Mix and Match Loaves

DSCF8568

Recently, I was given the cutest little four set of half pound loaf tins.  I couldn’t wait to see if I could make some equally cute loaves of bread.  So I made a glacé cherry loaf, a plain white loaf, a parsley loaf and a pesto loaf.  It gave me a real buzz to be able to make the parsley loaf using my own home grown parsley.  As for the pesto loaf, I would like to thank Kristina over at  https://sourdoughmovement.com/ because a post she had written about pesto bread gave me the idea to try it!

I did rather love the swirly patterns the pesto created.

Happy Friday! 🙂

Dahlia Daze!

You could say I’m in a “dahlia daze”!  At the moment four out of five of my pots of dahlias are on flower.

I wonder if their display is better than it was last year, when these very plants were coming straight from seeds back then.

The four plants together is giving a merry impact, especially in the bright sunshine.

However, I do wonder if this will mean their flowering season will be shorter this year.

DSCF8607

Either because they have come earlier, or because the weather might do different things to them.

On the plus side, the fifth plant might come into its own when the others have faded.  You never know.  Though I don’t like to take anything for granted.

For now, I’m loving the colours…

…the shapes…

…and the promise of each new bud…

…as it unfurls.

And evidently, I’m not the only one!
